"Students in the Yoo group will learn and gain experience in a broad range of subjects from synthetic organic chemistry (including standard chemistry laboratory techniques and spectrometric identification of organic molecules) and electrochemistry (including electrochemical measurements such as cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry) to applied materials chemistry (including use of instrumentation for characterization of materials). Our research projects provides students with an opportunity to realize the critical importance of how fundamental science plays a significant role to streamline and strengthen applied science and commercial technology: Students will have the opportunity to guide their research project in a way that is compatible with their interests, long-term goals (e.g. industry, national laboratory, academia), and ability."
